  • What is iGO Navigation?

iGO Navigation is an offline in-car navigation application that comes with a range of optional maps of more than 100 available countries. In the iGO Navigation app you decide which countries you want to download from a region, so you can save your storage for more important things like photos, videos, and music.  Set off, and let the explorer in you have it’s own way!

  • What is iGO Navigation for?

iGO Navigation is for real explorers who are keen on cross-border trips, or after some new exciting challenges in exotic countries. As the application runs offline after you downloaded your desired contents, you don’t have to worry about being connected, no matter where you are. Explore new regions without being online, and select from the thousands of restaurants, museums, or landmarks if you need a short break or stopover. However if internet connection is available, you can enjoy our live traffic service after you downloaded this package from the in-app shop. iGO Navigation will be a great travelling companion wherever you go.

  • Do I need internet connection to use iGO Navigation?

You only need internet connection when you download a map or a feature, or when you want to use an online service, such as real time traffic information. As the app uses GPS signals, which are available at no cost, you can use your iGO Navigation wherever and whenever you like after you downloaded the Navigation Package and your desired contents.

  • How much space do the maps require?

The size of the maps and features depends on the selected county. To learn more, please visit the in-app store. We suggest that you download the maps via a Wi-Fi network, as their size may be of several hundred MB sometimes.

  • What kind of operating system do I need to run iGO Navigation?

    iOS 7.0 or later.

    Android 4.0.3 or later.

  • Can I download countries instead of whole regions?

The maps are grouped in regions but it’s up to you which countries you want to download on your phone for your next trip. Should you need the rest of the maps at a later time, you can also download them at no addition cost.

  • What kind of community features does iGO Navigation come with?

Currently, iGO Navigation does not offer any community feature. This is how we would like to encourage you to live in the moment, enjoy your travelling companions, and get acquainted with local people. Trust us, real-life experience is a lot more valuable than a Facebook post.

  • Is live traffic information available?

Yes, if you have purchased our live traffic information package. To get real-time traffic information, you need to download this package from the in-app shop, and have active internet connection. If you are offline, statistical traffic information will provide you with data about the traffic in a given hour on a given day. Based on this information, the app calculates the estimated time of arrival, or you can instruct iGO Navigation to recommend an alternative route if you encounter a traffic jam along your trip.

  • I travel across several countries. Does the app warn me if I travel at or near the speed limit?

Yes, iGO Navigation contains the currently valid speed limits and relevant data for each country.

  • Why is the app only available in a beta version at the beginning?

A beta version is available for a short while with your chosen contents, so that you can see how iGO Navigation runs on you phone. Once the trial period is over, the previously downloaded maps and content will disappear from the application. However, if you would like to use them in the long run, you can purchase them in the in-app store.

  • Why do I receive a notification each time I start to run the app?

Android: iGO Navigation notifies you that you are using a beta version every time you run the app during the seven-day trial period. Once the trial period is over, you can purchase the packages you need, and the notification will stop to show.

iOS: iGO Navigation notifies you that you are using a beta version every time you open the app during the one-day trial period. Once the trial period is over, you can purchase the packages you need, and the notification will stop to show.

  • Why do I always get a warning to set up my iCloud account?

To use the subscription features, like live traffic information, you need to set up your account. If you have replaced your device or reinstalled iGO Navigation you need to set up your account to be able to restore the subscription features. You need to enable the iCloud if you have an operating system earlier than iOS 8. If you have iOS 8 or a later version you need to enable the iCloud Drive as well. Please make sure that the iCloud is enabled at the time of purchase, otherwise the application cannot save the data necessary for restoring your purchase information.

  • Why can’t I restore the statistical traffic information by restoring the items purchased in the in-app store?

To restore the data, the iCloud or iCloud Drive in the device settings has to be enabled, and it has to be turned on at the time of purchase.

  • Why do my maps disappear after the trial period?

Once the trial period is over, the previously downloaded maps and content will disappear from the application. However, you can purchase them in the in-app store.

  • I downloaded iGO Navigation but when I run the application for the first time I can’t find any maps. How can I get them?

iGO Navigation does not contain any maps at the first download. To get them, you need to use the in-app purchase feature. Visit the in-app store, and select the Navigation Package of the region you want to download. Once you have downloaded the Navigation Package, you can buy more content to your application.

  • I downloaded iGO Navigation some time ago, but removed it since then, and now I can’t find it in the Google Play Store/App Store. How can I install the software again?

iOS: In the App Store, go to “Purchased” menu and select “Restore Purchases” to download the previously purchased iGO Navigation again. The subscription services, such as live traffic information, can only be restored if you are signed into your iCloud account at the time of purchase and use the same user account (Apple ID) to restore all your previous purchases. Enjoy your trip and take care!

The name and place of the “Purchased” menu option may vary by iOS version.

Android: The Location feature on you device may be disabled for iGO Navigation. To check it, please go to Settings/Location. The other features may use mobile data or a Wi-Fi-network to get information about your current position. iGO Navigation only works with GPS signals, because this service is available at no cost, and does not require data transfer during navigation.

  • I tried all the above but the app still does not detect any GPS signals. What can I do?

If the GPS reception is still poor please try to use your device outside, where the signals of the satellites are not blocked. If you are using your iGO Navigation in a car, place your phone or tablet near or directly under the windscreen. The UV filter of cutting-edge technology windscreens may also have a negative effect on the GPS reception. If you still can’t detect any GPS signals please contact your device manufacturer.
