iGO primo® app Compatible with Pioneer’s AppRadio

With the latest product update, iGO primo app for iPhone and iPad will support the connection to Pioneer’s AppRadio multimedia unit.

The new in-app shop add-on will be available shortly in major iGO primo app regions such as Europe, Russia, Turkey, South America, North America and Brazil.

NNG LLC has announced the release of a new add-on for the popular iGO primo navigation app, making it compatible with AppRadio, the award-winning aftermarket unit from Pioneer. By mid July, the new compatibility feature can be downloaded from the in-app shop menu of iGO primo app for EUR 27.99.

iPhone users will now have the possibility to extend their iGO Navigation application to the large dashboard screen of AppRadio, enjoying increased safety and clearer audio and visual navigation instructions while optimizing their spending for in-car services. Additional features and services purchased through the iGO primo app shop such as Live Traffic, speed camera databases and 3D city packages further enhance the navigation experience on the App Radio unit.

Pioneer’s AppRadio is a car stereo system that has achieved wide industry acclaim, and which revolutionizes the driving experience by bringing compatible smartphone apps to the dashboard for a more personalized in-vehicle multimedia experience. The Eisa Award winning AppRadio allows drivers to access their iPhone calendar, navigation, photos and much more through a cable connection on the Pioneer head unit. There are currently two AppRadio products available (SPH-SA02 & SPH-DA100). Pioneers AV headunit AVH-8400BT and all of Pioneer’s 2012 in-Dash AudioVisual Navigation units support a feature known as Advanced AppMode, which allows AppRadio compatible Apps to be controlled via these products too.

“AppRadio and iGO primo app merging into one solution further improves the quality and driving experience with our product. We are convinced of the capabilities of the iGO Navigation solution for iOS and believe that we have found an optimized user-friendly way of connecting its advanced features and functionalities to the Pioneer AppRadio,” said Ronan McDonagh, General Manager Car Multimedia Technology Planning at Pioneer.

“As a long-term navigation provider for Pioneer, NNG is proud to extend this cooperation by discovering new opportunities to shape the joint future of in-dash and smartphone navigation. We believe the link between AppRadio and iGO primo app represents another major step towards a fully integrated smartphone navigation solution for the in-car environment,” said Gergely Homola, iPhone Business Unit Leader at NNG LLC.
