NNG Sharpens Focus on Telematics Business
NNG LLC has rounded off its telematics portfolio for Mobile Resource and Fleet Management Systems, by connecting its navigation Software Development Kit (SDK) with globally aggregated content and services, and linking them to its Web Services Platform. The company now offers a complete and fully customizable LBS solution for Telematics Service Providers.
While the commercial navigation industry is currently re-evaluating its dimensions and the role of major players and suppliers, NNG has taken further steps to drive innovative solutions for the telematics business. Targeting telematics service providers globally, NNG delivers a world of location specific services with a combination of award-winning iGO Navigation solutions, including modules for trucks and commercial applications, complete with a dedicated web services platform, Naviextras.com.
Having GPS navigation development at the core of its competences, NNG delivers applications that successfully combine navigation and communication features in a user-friendly interface. Map-based, in-vehicle navigation is now connected to the servers of fleet management centers and relating fleet applications. Truck-specific navigation for large vehicles includes specialized map attributes and notifications.
NNG’s advanced tools for the integration of various features and functions into the iGO Navigation user interface (UI) and workflow are further customized by a wide selection of content and connected services available through the company’s update platform. Already cooperating with telematics service providers in North and South America and Africa, NNG is aiming to expand its partnership base globally.
“Our early investments in a web services platform today provide the required bridge between content and services sourced from all corners of the world and the in-car user experience. Because NNG controls the entire environment, from content sourcing to in-car HMI, our products provide the user with a simple, well-integrated and delightful experience,” said Jim Nardulli, Senior Vice President, Americas and Global Telematics.
NNG is currently sourcing content from 30 map providers and nearly 50 other content providers globally. For its continuous licensing efforts, the company has been shortlisted for the annual Best Telematics Content Aggregator Award, which will be handed out in Detroit, USA, this week. At the same time, NNG is going to present its iGO Navigation solutions as a co-sponsor of the Telematics Detroit conference and exhibition on June 6-7th, and open a dialog with a keynote speech and several panel discussions.
